Director's Biography Benjamin Steger was born in Heerlen, Holland in 1972. He lived in Berlin, Germany and Alexandria, Virginia before moving to Leavenworth, Kansas in 1980. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.A. in Theatre and Film in 1995. Ben moved to Chicago in 1998 where he attended Columbia College Chicago, receiving a M.F.A. in Film Production in 2005. His thesis film, Great Bend, played many film festivals and was a "Critic's Pick" for Best of Festival (The Kansas City Jubilee Film Festival) by The Kansas City Star. Since then, he made a short documentary entitled Shalom House about a Catholic Worker homeless shelter (2008 Non-Violence International Film Festival) while continuing to write scripts and develop feature film projects. He freelances in video production primarily on documentaries and promotional videos for non-profit organizations in Chicago. Left Field is his first feature film. |
